How to Use Clean Energy Communities Grant Funding
CEC Grant Funds can be used to fund a wide variety of clean energy projects. If your municipality is anticipating a grant award, check out the below list of pre-approved project types for ideas, and some major guidelines to keep in mind. Your CEC Coordinator can also help you think about non-standard and custom projects not listed here.
It is recommended that you reach out to your local CEC Coordinator to discuss the use of funds and any considerations that may apply. Visit our other webpages to review the funding you may be eligible for.
Grant awards of $5,000 or more are eligible for an additional 50% in funding for projects located in a DAC. A $10,000 grant can be eligible for an additional $5,000 for select projects. Click here for a project lookup tool for DACs.
Grant awards over $30,000 will require a formal use contract with NYSERDA, and have additional requirements for application and documentation on top of what is discussed here.
