Delaware County

Delaware County has 15 communities in the Clean Energy Communities Program, 7 participating (Town of Walton, Village of Walton, Town of Delhi, Town of Andes, Town of Roxbury, Village of Fleischmanns, and Delaware County) and 8 certified communities (Town of Franklin, Town of Meredith, Town of Hamden, Town of Colchester , Town of Middletown, Town of Margaretville, Town of Hobart, and the Town of Stamford).

The Town of Delhi is the first community in Delaware County that is active in the Climate Smart Community Program.

49 CEC Actions have been completed and approved in the county.

$82,000 Water Treatment Plant Resiliency Improvements

The Village of Delhi will elevate a generator, fuel tank, and furnace in its water treatment plant to protect them from future flooding and guarantee operation of the plant during a flood event. The existing diesel-based system will be replaced with equipment that is more energy efficient and will produce fewer greenhouse gases.
