Steuben County has 15 communities in the Clean Energy Communities Program, 14 participating (Town of Dansville , City of Hornell, Town of Hartsville, Town of Jasper, Town of Cohocton, Town of Avoca, Village of Avoca, Village of Bath, Town of Woodhull, Village of Addison, Village of Painted Post, Town of Bradford, Town of Wayne, and Steuben County) and 1 certified community (Town of Hornellsville).

The Village of Bath and the Village of Campbell are the two communities in Steuben County that are active in the Climate Smart Community Program.
