Schuyler County

Schuyler County has 13 communities in the Clean Energy Communities Program, 11 participating (Town of Tyrone, Town of Reading, Town of Orange, Town of Dix, Town of Montour, Village of Watkins Glen, Village of Odessa, Town of Catherine, Town of Hector, Town of Cayuta, and Schuler County) and 2 certified communities (Village of Montour Falls and the Village of Burdett).

The Village of Montour Falls is the first community in Schuyler County that is active in the Climate Smart Community Program and has earned the Bronze level certification!

20 CEC Actions have been completed and approved in the county.

$25,000 Climate Vulnerability Assessment

The Village of Montour Falls will develop a climate vulnerability assessment that includes the Catharine Creek levee system and a climate adaptation plan identifying strategic long-term projects that will enhance the village's resilience to flooding, drought, and extreme temperatures.
